Sustainability goals 2022

Sustainability is of great importance to Mobility Invest Group (MIG) which is therefore committed to reducing its CO2 emissions. This reduction will be achieved in two areas: commuting, and gas and electricity consumption in the Amersfoort offices.

Mobility

MIG aims to reduce its commute related CO2 emissions in 2025 by 30% per employee compared to 2020. In 2030, MIG aspires to achieve zero commute related CO2 emissions.

The following measures have been approved by the board of directors:

  1. Installing an electric charging station at the office, providing green energy (via Eneco);
  2. Organising and facilitating (shared) bikes, electric bikes and speed pedelecs;
  3. Procurement process of seven electric lease cars to be used for commuting and business trips;
  4. Encouraging flexible reimbursement of travel expenses: employees will receive a higher mileage allowance when travelling in a sustainable manner (bike or train);
  5. No reimbursement of travel expenses for car journeys of less than 15 kilometres;
  6. Offering a compensation for working from home in order to encourage non-travel;
  7. Encouraging green energy charging contracts for charging electric cars at employees’ home address;
  8. All MIG employees to be registered and claim expenses in the Reisbalans app to gain insight in kilometres travelled and CO2 emissions;
  9. Challenging and rewarding employees to travel and work in a more sustainable and healthier manner.

Gas consumption

Compared to 2020, CO2 emissions as a result of gas consumption in MIG’s offices will be reduced with 10% in 2025 and at least 30% in 2030.

The following measures have been approved by the board of directors:

  1. Installation of smart electricity and water meters to gain more insight;
  2. Installation of smart thermostat knobs;
  3. Attention for sustainability measures such as closing windows and challenges to wear jumpers and cardigans on “Tree of Transition” day;
  4. Researching energy saving measures for example heat pumps, double glazing, smart thermostats, insulating pipes, insulating ceilings in basement (see previously carried out energy research), together with landlord;
  5. Thermostat at 19 degrees Celsius when it gets colder.

Energy consumption

CO2 emissions as a result of energy consumption in MIG’s offices will remain the same regardless of an increase in turn-over and in members of staff compared to 2020. MIG uses green energy (Hollands wind) which has a CO2 emission of zero gram per kWh.

The following measures have been approved by the board of directors:

  1. Installing smart meters in office areas;
  2. Choosing green, Dutch power when current energy contract expires;
  3. Organizing “Tree of Transition” information days on efficient use of appliances;
  4. Self-generating sustainable energy is complicated due to the historic style and nature of the offices on the Utrechtseweg, however, MIG will investigate the option of installing solar panels;
  5. Compare energy consumption in 2020 with other offices to gain insight in the relative high level of consumption;
  6. Replace all light bulbs in the office with LED lights in 2022 to safe energy;
  7. Investigate if we can roll out more energy efficient measures in the offices in order to reduce our energy consumption.
